"Stories of Sorrow and Grief for Women"
This collection of stories, commonly called the Grief Stories, originated with the recognition that many women in North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia lead difficult lives. Some have little outlet for expressing their suffering from poverty, childlessness, family strife, and bereavement. Some women do gather with friends to pour out the stories of their lives. In such settings they also need to hear stories of how God meets the needs of grieving women.
The Grief Stories do not make a complete presentation of the gospel. What they do, however, is convey to women that God cares about their grief and offers them a relationship with him. This is an excellent resource for a women’s support group or other informal setting in which women can talk about their hardships and find encouragement from the Bible. These stories naturally create an environment in which women can talk about spiritual matters.
