    Other Conference News

On Tuesday afternoon we will have training for how to present orality to your church and then that evening we will be sending out teams of trainers to local Atlanta churches.

Our conference Web site (www.ion2010.org) has a wealth of information about the event, schedule, facility and advance planning. We are offering a special Wednesday session for local attendees. It provides an opportunity to pick one of seven elective seminars and then participate in a DNA-21 mini-session. DNA-21 was launched by Avery this past April as an initiative for building discipleship into local churches.

Our lodge housing is already at 88% capacity. There are only 8 rooms left.

We've moved our event venue to a conference/retreat center and we've also relaxed the schedule with more free time. We believe this will allow more opportunities for interacting with others and provide a more refreshing atmosphere. There are opportunities for biking, hiking and other outdoor activities. We're even planning hayrides and an evening of storytelling around the campfire.

    Resent Update:

The beloved founder of the International Orality Network, Avery Willis, graduated to Glory on Friday morning, July 30, after a seven-month battle with leukemia. He will be deeply missed, especially at our upcoming 2010 ION Annual Consultation. You can read more by visiting these sites:

    • A tribute from the ION Executive Board: The ION Community Site
    • Avery's Journal: CaringBridge.org
    • Press release: Baptist Press

Avery was to be our opening speaker on Monday evening, September 20th. We will now use that evening as a time of celebrating his life and remembering many of the ways that he was used around the world to advance the cause of orality. We invite you to join us for this evening of remembering in Rome, Georgia by attending the 2010 ION Annual Consultation to be held September 20-23, 2010.

Thank you so much for noticing this, Evan! We apologize for the mistake. You should now see a button at the bottom of the event that says "View this site." This should send you to their website, which should have all the information you need. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your comment.

Wow, you guys have video! I am so thankful for the work put in to gathering all of this information for oral communicators/learners. I wish I had known about this site when I was on the mission field. I’m praying the word gets out!
